Kalau korang tanya aku siapa Malaysian yang paling famous sekarang ni, aku takkan jawab Lee Chong Wei, Mizz Nina mahupun Safee Sali. Aku akan jawab, siapa lagi kalau bukan Ashraf Haziq.

Kalau korang jenis yang memang tak pernah ambik port pasal perkembangan semasa, korang boleh masukkan diri korang dalam tempurung kelapa dan duduk situ diam-diam. Mamat Ashraf ni la student accounting kat London yang bernasib malang dirompak masa siang-siang buta, di tengah-tengah riot di Barking, London.


Ashraf yang dipercayai dalam perjalanan nak pergi rumah member (ada orang cakap girlfriend) untuk berbuka tapi apa malang punya nasib, dia kena tumbuk sampai patah rahang dan patah beberapa gigi depan. Tapi yang musibatnya, masa Ashraf ni tengah terduduk dan berdarah, ada la beberapa brader yang konon nak tolong, angkat dia. But instead, one of those scums bukak beg Ashraf ni and walked away with his PSP. Bekas tupperware utk berbuka si Ashraf ni dibuang mcm tu je. Hampeh betul. Handphone and basikal pun kena kebas sekali.

Dan kejadian ni somehow was recorded by someone yang aku rasa duduk area flat kat situ, and he uploaded it on Youtube, and became one of the most watched videos in the recent days. The video has enraged people around the world, especially the good Brits. Even PM dorang pun kata 'disgusting'.

So in the wake of the incident, mamat ni tiba2 jadi instant public figure la. And suddenly semua pihak nak join the sympathy bandwagon. Siap ada tumblr for him, called somethingniceforashraf.tumblr.com. I've heard they have collected near 22K pound from the site alone. With Sony and Namco Bandai agreed to replace the lost PSP, and some dentists in Spain are interested to repair the missing teeth for him FOR FREE, sponsored flight tickets for his parents to go to the UK to visit him, aku rasa what more can he ask for.

Latest development, mamat mugger tu dah been identified and charged. I sure hope dia kena hukuman kaw-kaw la because of what he and his friends did was simply inhumane and unacceptable.

So to Ashraf, really sorry to hear what happened, hope you got your jaw and teeth fixed soon, and may you improve your British accent better in the near future.

Recalling back the recent murder case of an Indian-citizen student, Nitin Garg, in Melbourne, early this year, we have seen the bilateral relationships between both countries on the rocks with Indian govt condemned the constant racist attacks on its citizen studying in Australia.

Nearly 100 cases of attacks on Indians had been reported in Australia in 2009 as against 17 incidents of assaults in 2008.

But, Garg, who was the first Indian to be attacked this year, had been the only victim of such assaults to succumb to his injuries.

But one woman, Mia Northrop, an Australian citizen, determines to show the Indian community, and the world, that Australians are not all racists and hostile. As such, she comes up with the idea of 'Vindaloo against Violence' event which urged Melburnians to dine at their local Indian restaurant on February 24th as a way to show solidarity with the city's Indian community.

"The idea is simply for everyday people to come together to support their immigrant communities in a very Melbourne way: through great food," Ms Northrop writes on her website.

"Let’s signal to the Indian media and other international observers that everyday Australians do not accept racially motivated violence and racism."

“We ’ve got people from Tennessee and Vancouver and Singapore and Hong Kong saying ‘We ’re going to do it here’,” she said.
So, Malaysia, what are we waiting for. Let's hit the mamak stalls/restaurants on the Feb 24th, and order our favourite Indian dish. Be it roti canai, tandoori, garlic naan, chapati, tosai or curry, it doesnt matter, as long as we're doing it in a mass to show our support for racial harmony, not only in Australia, but also in our beloved country as well. And after all, we all do love Indian food right? :)

So hari ni 1st Februari.


Time orang-orang KL duduk relaks kat rumah tengok cerita Adnan Sempit cetak rompak, aku plak kene kerja, kena officiate station opening sambil bagi ucapan. Fine, takpe. Tunggu 16 September nanti, hari Sabah Sarawak, mmg aku jogging bogel dalam rumah sambil twitter perlakuan tak senonoh aku itu.

So Januari dah lepas. Macam-macam kes. Busy betul wartawan kita, pak polisi, pak pak menteri, blogger-blogger, semua busy. One of the busiest Januaries aku rasa thus far. Awal-awal tahun dah kecoh pasal gereja kena bakar dan serang. Kalau satu dua, ok lagi. Ni sampai 11.
Pastu kuil Sikh pulak kena serang. Then kes tingkap surau kena pecah. And finale pasal kepala babi hutan kat masjid. Takde keje betul la dorang ni.

Pastu kes Hani Tarmizi dan penghinaan beliau di fb terhadap gadis-gadis Sarawak. Dan finally kes Aduka Taruna dan penghinaan terhadap Sultan Johor. Semua ni hot talking points among rakyat.

So aku rasa, dah-dahla tu. Cukup-cukup la. The keyword yg perlu kite masukkan dalam pala hotak kita yg berjambul ni cuma satu je: RESPECT. That is what we lack. Respect the differences among us, respect other ppl without throwing judgmental remarks generally, respect agama orang lain, respect sistem kesultanan, dan kalau takleh juga, respect diri sendiri cukup.

Memangla lepaskan marah tu senang. Memangla nak cari publisiti tu senang. Tapi consequences dia kena pikir jugak.

Dari korang pikir mcmana nak kutuk orang lain dalam next blog korang, better pikir rumah mane yg paling best utk kita pergi Chinese New Year ni. Yang paling banyak dapat angpow. Itu laaaaagi best. Kan? :)

Aku kata: This has to stop. Rumah ibadat bukan satu yang boleh di buat main. Someone is playing with the religion cards, terribly and I sure hope govt and the police force hunt down these culprits before things got worse. We'll never know what those ''Islamic extremists'' will do next to counter back. I hope not. For the sake of our country



Tak sampai 2 hari kita dikejutkan dengan berita mangkatnya Sultan Johor, DYMM Sultan Iskandar, dunia blog Malaysia dikejutkan pulak dengan blog Aduka Taruna yang terang-terang kutuk Almarhum dengan bahasa yang sangatlah biadap.



Aku tak tau apa grudge yang mamat ni ada towards Almarhum, tapi perkataan yg dia kuarkan tu agak tak sopan utk dikeluarkan, jangan kata terhadap Sultan, even terhadap sesama manusia biasa pun. After browsing thru blog dia ni, dia mengaku yg dia 'pemerhati bebas politik'. At first I thought that he's not on any side since semua party pun dia belasah. Dari UMNO, Nik Aziz, Hadi, Tun Mahathir, semua dia kutuk dalam blog dia. But I'm pretty sure he's supporting PAS as he's selling the PAS-REFORM tshirts on his blog. Mesti generasi muda PAS yang nak get rid of the current leaders, from my observation.

Tapi bab kutuk Almarhum Sultan Iskandar is something that overboard if you ask me. Nah sekarang eventho dia dah openly apologize to Malaysian citizens as a whole, I think it's pretty too late now.

Whatever it is, the damage is done. Not only he will face the wrath of the patriotic Johoreans, but also the police, the govt as well as the Sultan Johor royal families (including those underground mafias, if u know what i mean).

So much has happened in the last few weeks that has cause our country to be buzzing with agreements and disagreements.

But we’re proud that despite all that’s happened, we the Rakyat, have managed to keep our cool.

Let’s celebrate the fact that we have grown up to be a level-headed cool lot! Let’s inspire those not-so-cool to be cool :]

Let’s do something symbolic. Come with a piece of rope/string and we will tie them together to make one long, beautiful, cool rope that represents each and every one of us.

We will then take our fantastic work of art on a short, 15-minute tour for our fellow Malaysians to see.

I guess, in this Allah issue of late, every Malaysian has it's own stand on it.

Everyone has their own ideas, views and opinions.

Some loudly spoken their views in fb statuses, groups.
Some rather keep it to themselves, and I got to know the responses only upon asking.
And sadly, some expressed their views through more uncivilized method, church bombing.

And if people may ask, what's my take on this?
As a Muslim, do I think it's OK for other religions, namely Catholic Christians, to use Allah in their daily prayers, publishings and whatnots?
As a Muslim, do I think it's acceptable to see the name of Allah, Muslim's one and only God, being used in sermons and at Churches' signboards?
As a Muslim, do I think it's normal to share my God, with the Christians?

Well initially I was against it.
This is Allah name that we are talking about.
It touches the core of faith in every Muslims around the world. Something that can't be jeopardized of.
Reading the arguments that Allah simply means God in Arabic, hence the Arabic Christians, even some Jews are using Allah in referring to their God.
But I asked, we live in Malaysia, not Arab, so why can't they stick to Lord, or God?
Why must they use Allah, something thats very sensitive to fellow Muslims?
And so I thought I can justify my stands, and that I was choosing the right side.

But as I read more, (these people should do too), things have started opening up for me.
So I've seen the pictures, I've read the comments by the non-Muslims in Sabah & Sarawak.
They have been using Allah as to refer to their God for ages now.
They have bible written in Malay, preaches in Malay, all have been using Allah as their God.
(This is simply because they understand Malay language more, rather than English and afterall Malay language IS our national language, no?)
And I've read Ustaz Asri's article on this. It's rather absurd that the Muslims claim that the usage of Allah by the Catholic Christians may mislead our youth, may confuse our children.

How is that?

If the usage of Allah name by the Catholic Christians are for their readings (Herald publishing for an instance), or the name Allah is seen at the churches, are our youth ignorant enough to know that churches simply for the Christians? What can possibly confuse them? As Ustaz Asri put it, can't our generation differentiate something so obvious, like a day from a night?

I don't know.

Some of my fellow Muslims told me, it would deviate us from akidah (faith) if we agree to let them to use the Allah name. Well I suggest we strengthen our akidah then, do something that's within our control, and Insha Allah pieces will fit back again.

And if you ask me to pick a side, with these terror acts of bombing churches and school, I'd rather say, I wont pick any side.

But if I have to, I pick Malaysian unity.


2010 is just one week old. ok one week and a day old. But Malaysia is already facing one of the worst religions tensions so far. Started with the Allah name issue, it all escalated to church bombing and arson, as well as reports of cars been smashed.

What have we turned into?

We are deviating away from the unity path.
We are creating an intense atmosphere.
How can we be so barbaric?


And what saddens me more is, upon reading the comments from the facebook group, some Islamic extremists applauded these acts of terror, quoting "taste this wrath of fury", "this is what u get for making fun of our God's name", "good job guys, this will teach them some lessons".

I mean come on. We have made enough noises.
FB groups. Blogs. Street protests.
They've heard us already. Those stupid acts are unnecessary.
Islam doesn't condone acts of terror.
Humanity doesn't condone acts of terror.
Rational doesn't too.

And now the world is watching.
This could affect our foreign investments.
This could affect our tourism industry.
Foreigners might think we are a hostile host, creating animosity towards other religion.
Do we want that?



Well i guess in these trying times, we better hold on to those things that keep us united.
Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Atheists, we are all the children of God's.
There is no race, no religion, no skin color that are better than the others.
In God's eyes, we are all the same, and what differentiates us from other slaves are our iman.

Happy New Year 2010.

Hampir pukul 3.
Hari ni dah 9 Oktober.

Patutnya team BENDERA (Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat) nak serang Malaysia melalui Kalimantan, masuk ikut Pontianak (Sarawak) dgn Nunukan (Sabah), semalam. Ini yang aku baca thru interview wartawan theStar dengan leader BENDERA, Adian. [link]

Tapi sampai hari ni takde pape pon. Aku bukan nak sombong or riak. Hati pun mcm takut sikit.

Sebab dorang cakap dorang kebal.
Sebab dorang cakap dorang ada ilmu.
Sebab dorang cakap dorang dah masuk senyap-senyap.
Sebab dorang cakap dorang dah pakat dengan pekerja Indo kat sini.

Tapi, masih tunggu jugak. Kot-kot ada chaos dkat Kuching. Kalau ikut plan dorang, 200 orang datang dulu, yang lain akau menyusul kemudian. Kalau ikutkan jadual dorang, ni aku summary kan:

9 Oktober - 200 orang akan ke berangkat dan dijangka tiba di Malaysia 14 Oktober (lama tu, dorang jalan kaki kot)
11 Oktober - 125 orang
15 Oktober - 125 orang lagi
17 & 19 Oktober - 600 orang
22 Oktober - 400 orang
25 Oktober - team terakhir, 50 orang team medik (siap ada team medik tu)

so complete 1,500 orang yang akan datang Malaysia.
jadi tah tidak, aku tak tau. harap dorang ni main2 je la.
kalau jadi datang pun, takut2 semua terus mintak kerja kat sini

In the midst of this cyber war between us and Indonesians, I gotta say, how proud I am to be a Malaysian. With all the mini domestic turmoil and stuff, I believe this is the best time for us to put aside all the differences, skin color, political views, race, language spoken, favorite football clubs, and celebrate one thing that unites as all, that is being Malaysians.

I think it's absurd that Malaysians are fighting against themselves, when we know this disunity will only make us vulnerable to the external threats, and in case these fellow countrymen don't realize, this cyber war has long begun and before it escalates any further, and IF it escalates any further, I sure hope we are all prepared.

I pray for racial harmony, I pray for strentgh of Malaysia, because
UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL
